Mixing Green Coolant with Gold Coolant - **Coolant FLush Results**
My Ford dealer accidentally mixed green coolant into my '08 F250.
Ford replaced the degas reservoir and the tech "mistakenly" added green coolant to the system.
I happen to catch it before they started the truck. I told them they needed to flush the system following the Ford published coolant flush procedure. They indicated they would, however the procedure they use calls out for evacuating the system through the degas bottle via vacuum and not draining the system through the engine block drains and radiator.
Have you guy heard of being able to draining the system through the degas bottle? I don't think it can be done...
I fill the system through the degas bottle using an Airlift vacuum system.
Also, the dealer says Green coolant mixed with Gold will not harm the system. Mixing Orange with Gold is the problem. I completely disagree given Ford's own criteria for the use of Gold vs Green coolant.
What do you think.

Doesn't look like Ford Gold I've ever used.
I can see how they may believe getting most of the green out if they only filled the degas and never started the engine. It never circulated through the system. I still don't like the situation. No telling how green and gold will mix in the long run. When you start mixing stuff, nothing good can happen. It's like putting an ounce of lemon juice in a gallon of milk and mixing it around. That one ounce will ruin the whole gallon.

I think you got taken to the cleaners. You need to not drive the truck and take it another location where they will put in the ford spec coolant per your owners guide.
You don't vacumn it from the degas bottle.
You open up the petcock on the radiator, pull the block plugs.

The new coolant is in a red 1 gallon bottle. I have a couple of gallons left over from last flush I did and it's in a white 1 gallon bottle and it's clear/yellowish in color.
Ford must have changed the formulation.
The dealer showed me a 2015 F250 6.7 and it's has the same greenish color in the degas bottle.
So I don't know what to think.

I pulled that sample from the degas bottle....
I'm telling you guys, Ford changed the formulation and made it look greenish...
Trust me, I have always done the right thing when it comes to maintenance with my 6.4. I got on the dealer really hard when I saw green in the degas bottle.
If I hadn't opened up a sealed (red) Ford 1 gallon bottle labeled GOLD, poured some into a clear cup, I wouldn't have believed it neither... It's green guys.
Today I changed the fuel cooler coolant. I used Ford Gold I had from my last flush (white bottle), and yes it's clearish, gold in color.
Maybe one of the tech's can chime in here.... Did Ford change the color of their Gold to Greenish (at least the way it looks in the degas bottle).

I'll purchase some new Gold and take pics.
If I remember correctly, it' took 20 gallons of distilled water to perform the flush. Along with several hours and the Airlift vacuum tool.
Sure wish I could get to the block drain above the starter without having to remove the starter. But with two-three good flushes, running the truck up to temp with distilled water I should be good.
