2006 expedition wiring for heated mirrors

Does anyone know if I can upgrade to heated mirrors on my 2006 expedition? Amazon sells replacement heated mirrors (glass) it would be good to know before I ordered the mirrors. What wire should I have if it is in the harness? Thanks

Yes you can. You will have to run 16 awg wire from 10-amp fuse #8 to each mirror, plus the ground wire of course. See the attached PDF for how it's supposed to be wired.

I added heat mirrors back on my 97 expedition, but my navigator came with them. I got creative and tied one of the AUX outputs from my aftermarket remote start system to the rear defrost switch. So now when the windows are all frosty like, I remote start then activate the AUX and when I go out the rear window and mirrors are nice and clear.

That is pure genius. I can't believe I never did that with my old truck and all of its crazy electrical mods I did.

I installed some Navigator power folding mirrors in my 2005. The wires were already there for them. I just had to find which wires were for the heated mirrors. A test light and multimeter really helps out.
