OK, a month or so ago someone posted about replacing their existing side view mirrors with the 2008 mirrors. Well it seems I wasn't watching closely enough and manage to whop my passenger side mirror on my 2006 F 250 XLT on an oak tree while backing out of a tight space yesterday. Now I either replace the cover which is cracked or I consider new mirrors both sides since the drivers side mirror is also scraped by the previous owner. I could replace them with 2006 mirrors or go to the 2008's. Mine are remote adjustable and heated.
I have tried the search function but can't find the post that described the process and where to get the best buy on purchasing the new mirrors.
i will help you man a good thing is finding someone with 08 mirrors and pm'ing them and asking them what they did and how they did it...btw sharp truck and how bad are your mirrors?
Thanks Patrick, I tried 2006 -2008 mirrors and got no where. This will help a bunch. The 2006 mirrors are not that bad and a new cover on the passenger side would make it look like new and I assume the amber light still works. I need to go try it in the dark. Did not notice last night after I wacked the tree. Good thing these mirrors move back or forward or I would have ripped it out of the door.
I have searched and read articles on this topic and am curious myself, Where to find the best deal on the 2008 Mirrors. The price has doubled from what I have found in the past year and half.
FTEPartsGuy is a sponsor here - he has the best online price for the mirrors. He is a Ford parts dealer. You might find them for less, but the prices went up quite a bit with the popularity of the new mirrors. I would pick up a set, but I'm waiting for a better price on the power fold / power extend mirrors....assuming it ever goes down.
