Help needed to decode F600 warranty plate

I found a Ford 600 with 86,572 original miles that I can pick up for $0.00 Can anyone help decode the info on the warranty placard? I've searched everywhere I could find with no luck, every place I found shows the warranty numbers starting with a "F" and the other descriptions for trans, axle etc don't match, any help is appreciated

It reads N60DVU88278

You posted a nice clear pic, but it sometimes takes a day or more for Numberdummy or one of the other members with the decoder ring to see the thread.

I have a 1973 Shop manual, with all the codes for the 1973 model year.
I can get you PART of the way on a decode.....................

N60DVU88278
N60 = N600
D= 330-2V, HD V8, Gas
V = Kentucky Truck Plant
U88278 = Calendar year month of production and sequential serial number
(very likely 1974 or 1975).

More:
W.B. (wheelbase) = 202"
Model N604 = ?
Body 118 = ?
Trans A = New Process 435 4-speed.
Axle F2L: F2 = Eaton Model 15201 (15,000 Lb.) 2-speed, 5.83/8.12 Ratios.
L = 6,000 Lb. power steering.
GVWR = Fairly Obvious.
D.S.O. 482401: District Sales Office that originally ordered the truck.
48 = Detroit, 2401 = sequential order number, most likely.

Hopefully this will get you by for now. Keep in mind, any or all of this is subject to verification and/or correction (and I'm sure it will be ).

Thank you for the reply, I'm not sure if Ford ever figured out how to correctly identify the N series trucks. During my research I read an article from Ford saying the N600 was only produced from 1962 to 1969 ... Hopefully someday maybe while some janitor is cleaning out some basement they'll discover some kind of document with the accurate info lol

Welcome to FTE. See the picture in post 1. That is the data/warranty plate. In addition to the VIN, it has the trans and axle codes. See if you can post that info as well.

Sorry I can't post a picture yet the truck is still 120 miles away in Amarillo.
The main thing i was needing is the fact that it says N61. The 1 is the part i was wondering about. Also I wanted to share the fact that its a 1978 N600 series. I thought NumberDummy might like that.

See post 7. The N series ended in 1969. Yours may be an LN series, which seems likely, again see ND comments in post 7.

N60 vs. N61--this question came up recently with respect to some F600 "model" numbers as seen in a parts page ND posted. The poster insisted he had what must be a "rare" F610. The explanation given is that the "F61" designation, vs. "F60" had to do with GVWR. I suspect it's the same with your truck.

No N Series trucks after 1969!

N61 = LN600 (gas).

D = 330 2V H/D FT Engine.

V = Kentucky Truck Assembly Plant.

CC7679 = 1978.

The TYPE/GVW aka MODEL code stamped on the Warranty Plate (thru 1979) defines the GVWR
