This evening I will be changing the front motor mount on my 223 six. From those who have have done this, did you drain the coolant and remove the lower radiator hose before slightly rasing the engine? I'm not sure if the hose has enough flex to allow this. Thanks. Steve
My apologies for a question that would be tough to offer advice without seeing it. Anyhow, just to play it safe, I went ahead and removed the hoses, raised the front of the engine to provide enough clearance for the swap-out and now I'm good-to-go.
I have a 1955 F100 and am replacing the engine with a 1961 223. Problem is the engine attachment is a horse shoe shape that sets on top of the cross beam making the engine too high. I need a mount that can go under the fly wheel. Anyone have any suggestions?

You cant use the 1961 front mount bracket, you need a 53-56 223 front mount bracket it will fit under the FRONT PULLEY.
I have the original engine mount, but it will not fit the engine. Some one responsed that they have one, But after I signed ed in, I could not find it again.
