So here is an update for you all....
I've been shopping all over and up here dually's are hard to find. I found 1 and drove it, but it was an XLT, and didn't have the max tow option which is a must for me...so this time the wife got a new car and I will be keeping my 06 for a while longer. I'm going to see what 2017 and what the re-design will bring to the party and in 3 years when the wife's new car is paid off look for a nice used 16 or order a brand new truck the way I want it.
I also felt more comfortable with my wife getting the new car as we will have a new addition by 8/25, and my truck sits in the garage for 4-6 months out of the year during winter, so I could see myself with this truck for another 5-7 years if need be, at least 3 til the wife's is paid in full.
I couldn't find a 15, the truck I found was a 16 and they just weren't willing to deal, and TBH I wasn't willing to go down to an XLT just to get a new truck, plus it didn't have the equipment on it either. I do however see why you guys like the 6.7 so much, and I will defiantly be holding out for that powertrain over a 6.4 which I was also considering.
Thanks for all the help, but it looks like the 6.0 club is stuck with me for a while longer.

From all Ive read on the subject. I think you have made a wise choice...To my understanding from reading these posts, guys are having problems with one bank with the valves tapping or clanking during regen.....and from reading peoples posts it took awhile for them ( Ford ) to even admit or acknowledge there was even a problem....and now that they admit there is a problem they are saying they wont have a fix until 2016....some of the posters that have been experiencing this problem do in fact have a 2015 model....So with knowing all that...it begs the question....why would you drop 50-60 grand on a brand new truck that is already broken?....and cant be fixed for another 5-8 months?.....or am I missing something?

He asked for opinions and I offered mine. I am currently the proud owner of 3 Fords. So no high jack attempted or intended. Just offering something else to think about. I hope your truck is not affected, and seeing as the problem is hit or miss and could happen at 4000 miles or 24000 miles, I suppose time bomb (your words) could apply to your truck...If you havent heard by now about TSB 15-0088 or the threads about the "jack hammering" valves (even on 2015's) then you are either ill-informed, or oblivious because it hasnt affect you (yet?)....and it certainly doesnt make what I posted wrong...(nice try tho)

Every make has its issues,
The job 1 trucks in 11 had issues too, Ford has acknowledged and created a TSB to address these trucks. To he honest the only reason there isn't a 15 or 15 F350 sitting in my driveway tonight is I couldn't find the truck for me, and the big factor for me was I don't drive my truck in the winter time and I felt better that my wife had the new car.
But I wont lie to you it was real hard walking away from that 16, especially when the "boss" said it was mine if I wanted it.
I will continue to troll the 6.7 forums and keep tabs on whats going on with you guys. I just hope that the 17 doesn't look as bad as the spy shots make it out to be or I will be buying used.

Sarge,
I'm late posting to this, however I traded up my 07 F350 SRW for a 2015, F350 DRW, with the Max Tow Package, mostly for the 4.30-1 gears (we tow heavy)
We had been shopping for a Platinum and were ready to order one since they were few and far between especially in DRW. A King Ranch DRW showed up on the lot the day we were shopping exterior colors. The sales guy being a long time associate (full disclosure, this dealer has sold or leased us our last 7 trucks/Excursion, now 8), said to my wife when she wondered out loud if it would match our trailer, "take it home and see". So he hung a dealer plate on it, we took it home and of course it matched our color scheme perfectly. That sold my wife.
We slept on it; got up the next day, looked at our build sheets that we had been entertaining and found this subject truck had everything we wanted less dual alternators. We figured we could live without that and I bought it that day.
The dealer found $5500 in incentives, which made the sale that much easier. We are happy with the truck we have, a Platinum is nice, we liked the leather, however the King Ranch stood out for my wife, and since she is "Household 6" I couldn't go wrong.
Wish you luck in seeking a '17 model, hope they don't mess with success. Like you I do miss my 2007 truck but the 15 is filling the void just fine.

Thanks Mark,
Im glad you posted and Ive followed you threads quite a bit. Im very comfortable that I didn't buy right now, with a baby now a few weeks away I really wanted my wife to have the new car. My truck does a great job and Im not nearly as heavy as some of you who tow with a SRW, but Id really like the stability of a dually.
For now it will have to wait. My hope is that they don't mess with the SD too much in the looks department, however if they do Im not against finding a nice used 15 or 16 when the time comes. I have to wait 3 years anyway until we get the 4 Runner paid off.

I would always have to choose "Happy Wife, Happy Life" over a new truck. The new family addition would be the icing on the cake so to say.
Best of wishes as the delivery day approaches. Do keep us informed when it does.
It's nice to see a husband put his wife and family ahead of his personal wants and desires. You are setting a good example to follow.

Although the wife has a 2014 car and my truck is a 2015, I always want the wife to drive a lower mileage car. I worry about her. I don't worry so much about myself. I also want her to have a car that makes it through the snow easily. She has an Escape today and it's wonderful in the snow.
