6.7L Power Stroke, Tranny Runs Hot

Recently I picked up a Super Duty, a 2011 F250 with the 6.7L Power Stroke w/ 66K miles on it, auto tranny, 4wd. The long and short of it was I bought it at auction, most likely for a guy that hauled a gooseneck regularly b/c of the hitch, worn rear tires and worn out brakes. The truck ran well stock so within a few weeks I installed a BDS 6'' lift kit along with 37'' Dick Cepeks, 20'' Racelines, ARB front bumper, LED lights and a Warn winch. Gearing is still stock and the only mods to the engine is a Edge CTS2 set on the mild setting. I'm not that familiar with the transmission in the truck but have a few concerns I was hoping for some input on. I've gone as far as to check the fluid which is within the acceptable range both cold and hot.

1) Initial startup, tranny shifts hard from 2nd to 3rd gear the first time then shifts smooth in all gears after.

2) Regardless of if I'm towing a camper or empty, average tranny temp is around 220. I just did a 13hr drive unloaded and after running at 218-225 for the first couple hours it steadily rose to 240+ on flat ground before cooling itself back down to 230 for the rest of the drive. My first thought is tranny cooler, not getting enough airflow, but I'm open to suggestions. (*check engine light and traction control light in the photos both are about the advancetrac system needing updates after the CTS2 was installed).

Have you checked the transmission fluid level? Has the fluid been changed? What is the condition of the fluid?

What about the coolant level of the secondary cooling system? Does it need more coolant? There is a transmission cooler that uses the secondary cooling system to help cool the transmission.

Try and run the truck without the tuner. Also, I would change the trans fluid and filter. We have towed 17k lbs with our F450, and haven't seen those temps.

Was you getting those temps when you first got it, when it was stock?
