i suggest you bypass the radiator cooler and get a good aftermarket tranny cooler and plumb it in. does your speedometer work properly?

When you changed the fluid did you flush the cooler? When was the last time you flushed your rad?

If you can't get rid of the heat, it will eventually burn up your tranny. I'm with Kemical on the external - I swapped one in the first week I got my newest (89) bronco and then plugged the holes in the rad where it used to be. Runs cool and pulls al day long.

A side point on it - when the tranny fluid cooling coil in the rad fails it pumps coolant into the tranny, killing it and contaminating your coolant with tranny fluid.
