Anyone put a larger pickup tube in the cab tank?
I'm building a 445 for my F100, and I don't think I can pull enough fuel through the pickup tube and stock fuel line.
Has anyone put a bigger pickup tube into the cab tank (behind the seat). I really don't have time to take the bed off and put a tank back in the bed.

Ford did not supply fuel & steel brake lines, all had to be made up using a tubing bender, bulk tubing of the apropos size, nuts and ferrules.
Pickup tube comes out of the top of the tank, routes thru the floor pan, then there's a short neoprene fuel hose that connects the pickup tube to the fuel line that routes along the outside of the frame rail.
You'd have to replace the fitting on the tank, both the pickup tube, short neoprene hose and the fuel line, but...look at fuel pump. Only one size neoprene rubber hose connects to its nipple.
If you figured out how to install a larger nipple on the fuel pump, then you'd have to replace the steel line that routes from the pump to the carb.

Thanks Bill, but I'm thinking about running a bigger gas line so I don't empty the bowl on the carb at WOT. One of my neighbours has built a wild 521 into a 68 and had to do it. He drilled a hole and made a pretty good but jerry-rigged set up.
Was wondering if anyone had a better idea than he had. It will most assuredly won't be a stock part.

I see what you are saying. When I first saw it the reference was to the filler tube. I plan to mount a Holley 110 gph electric pump about where the first clip (338360-S 32) is mounted with a filter in front and after it. That means replacing the 9282 part and everything from there to the carb.
My friend drilled a hole beside the current pickup, and had threaded part that passed through the hole and had a nut on the inside of the tank. Right now the 9282 is cut and crimped, but he's looking for a stop plug that will thread into the part that is still in the tank. He thinks he might find a close off plug for a brake system that will do it.
I'll probably follow his lead. I was fishing for a better idea if one was out there.
