Hey guys I have a 4 inch MBRP turbo back straight pipe and I hear a lot of other 6.0 that sound much louder.

just curious as to why that may be?
any ideas?

 

Are you running any custom tunes? There is a definite change in noise output when going from stock to a custom tune.

Could be other reasons but that's the first one that comes to mind.

 

i bet if you get on it good it will be loud

 

I have a 5" cat back and no is not loud at all. I tried removing the cat but could not stand the sound at idle and high idle. As it's my DD all year I could not deal with it everyday. So I put it back on. It still has a nice rumble but allot more civilized at idle and cruising speeds.

 

I am running some mild custom tunes. my daily tune is a 65 HP.
maybe it keeps the VGT closed more often. not sure. Lol.

also I have something that looks like maybe a resonator. I'll take a pic and post it soon.

 

Sounds like you still have the cat installed.

Should have a jet engine sound at idle and a V8 rumble when on the throttle

here it is. right after the downpipe when it turns to go straight towards the back.

 

I don't think there is a cat still.
it has the jet engine sound for sure. turbo is really loud.

 

Yup, that's a resonator in your pic. 03s came with one.

 

good know. she will be at the muffler shop Friday to have that cut out. Lol.
