90 f150 302 Cost of painting

Hey guys I'm new here. I got a 90 f150 302 5 speed four wheeldrive short bed. It had some rust and dents but I've got a complete rust free and dent free body. It's currently silver/red/silver. I'd like to have it the same colors or a solid red. Was just wondering if anybody knows roughly if would cost to get it painted. Maby not quite as god as factory but pretty close. Thanks

The local shop told me $5000 to do a two tone white and black with a stick on gun metal gray pinstripe between the white and black and another stripe farther up on my 88 F150 302.

Of course I was very specific I wanted summit white, gloss black and the pinstripe I was clear on. Plus I was going to have them remove everything to paint it right. Plus I have fender flares I wanted them to remove then paint the black.

On our 90 F150 302 reg cab long bed they wanted $1500 to paint the white and blue over again and that didn't include the bottom portion that dad doesn't want painted because of rocks.

Are you talking the bed or the whole truck?

Bed 1000

Whole truck 4000-6000

I was thinking if Maby I Sand it and take most if not all the stuff that would usually be taped up like lights molding and windows since I need new weather stripping anyway that would take of some of the price.

Depends who you have do it. If it is professionally done it will be costly a friend of mine has basically your truck and painted it blue and included all the body work for $600 a tractor, a pushmower and a weedwacker.

I just got an appraisal from the Ford body shop in my town for painting mine it was $4,000 for painting the truck two-tone and to fix a dent in the roof and all the minor dings. The other shop I talked to just told me $4,000 to $5,000 for a full size regular cab truck. He did not even look closely at the truck.

The problem with paint and body work is you could spend $2000 or $20,000 and end up with the same quality. There is no correlation, in my experience, between what you pay and what you get.

Right and I've painted something's of my own before and I know that 95% of it is in the prep work. I can do the prep I just don't have the complete knowledge or tools to do the job right
