F-6 COE seat suggestions

Getting close to needing a driver's seat. I was thinking maybe a Bostrom T-bar. Any suggestions would be appreciated. There is currently no seat at all, and maybe an OE complete shock seat would be impossible to find.

Have you considered an air ride seat like used in the OTR trucks. Certainly easier on the butt and spine. IMO, it would not look out of place. Someone recently posted a picture of his newly acquired truck that had such a seat.

I have an OE bucket seat I'd give you, but shipping cost would be ugly.....

I'm in Washington state, where are you? Is it in serviceable condition? I would need the whole shebang, links and all. Could be doable. I can't find a Bostrom Viking or comparable seat for under $400.

It would need complete rebuild/recover, but it's all there. PM me if interested.

Great progress

If you are ready for seats already you have made great progress on the truck.I will be putting the originals back in one of mine just for the shock factor. IF you find a shock that is close to the original let me know.

Not quite ready yet but soon. Seems that one small detail after another keeps popping up.
I assume you are referring to the OEM shock absorber driver's seal?

original OE 50' COE seats...

Bob,

Do you still need seats for your COE?

I'm not using mine... they are in excellent original condition -- including the cover material. One of the side seams on the driver's side is coming apart... but it's just the thread material that's the issue.

I was thinking of having an upholstery person take the covers off... and re-sew them together with new thread... as I think the thread is dry rotted ... but everything else is in great condition.

pics:

If you are interested, I'll dig them out and get you better pics...

these are the real deal. My truck was a fire truck at a state hospital that never had fires... only had 6,523 miles on it.

These pics were taken the day I bought the COE... the mirrors were inside the cab...

The original spring & shock are all there...

Dang! Too late. Went with an air ride seat base from a Volvo big rig. How about the passenger seat, is that available?

I hate to split up the pair...

Let me see if I can sell the driver's seat separate... and if I can, I'll be glad to sell you the passenger seat... right now, they are a perfect match.
