2004 e150 chateau needs help

I bought a 2004 e150 chateau 3 months ago. Tonight as I'm driving along and the drivers window just fell into the door.... Suprised the he'll out of me as I was driving 55 in the dark and wham a blast of air and no window. Lol. I hear the motor moving in either direction when hitting the switch. Got the door panel off in the dark but can't really see anything with a flashlight. Anyone have it happen to them? If so what was it, how hard to fix, and how much for the parts?

Not the exact experience. But most likely you will need a new window regulator ($75-$90). You may be lucky and just need to fix a pulley or the cable (if I recall correctly, these are cable operated.
It is not hard to repair once you know what you are doing. Look for some tutorials on YouTube for any Ford truck, I think they are very similar regulators. If not the same.

Thanks a lot man. I really cant see much in the dark. I fought the window up and lasso'd a rope around the track it rides on and tied it over the door panel to the inside grab handle to hold it up till I can get into it. I have to work all day tomorrow, I work a a mall so I can't leave it with the window down, everything will get stolen...
Thank you again for the quick response.

If the door liner is off, prop up the glass with a broomstick until you can fix the regulator.

Window regulators on your year van are indeed cable driven assemblies, can't really be repaired or patched back together once they break.

There should be more than a few tutorials here in the tech folder or via the search function how to replace the regulator.

Parts shouldn't run much more than $100 max. Because its the most used door use new and good quality parts---do it once the right way.
