1993 F250 Manual Transmission

I have a 1993 F250 Turbo Diesel 7.3L. Manual Transmission.

After driving my truck the other day, I noticed a small amount of fluid on the ground. It was dripping from the first U-joint right up behind the transmission. It's never leaked before this...but when I went to look for a dipstick in the engine compartment, I could not find one!

So my question is...is this transmission sealed? Or is the stick concealed somewhere?? And because it's got a slight slight leak, how on earth can more fluid be added??

Any info is greatly appreciated!

Thank You,
Eric

No dipstick on the manuals. There's a drain plug on the bottom and a fill plug, I believe on the driver's side.

welcome to FTE.
keep and eye on it, it may be a leak you will need to fix.
what did you put in the trans, gear oil or automatic trans fluid?.

I went to the Heavy Duty Trucks dealership here in KC (Midway Ford) and they gave me Mercon V tranny fluid. Should I have gotten gear oil? You got me worried now...
