New to me 2005 no start f550

I bought it knowing it don't start. Looked it over and did some Reserch here and check filter housing I get no oil in the filter housing when turning it over for 30 plus seconds I also took the relief valve out it was not stuck, no pressure on spring when I removed it and no debris in there. Now I just drained the oil there is nothing stuck to the drain plug magnet. So here is my question for the experts should I pull the pan first or pull the low pressure pump apart first? It has 176000 miles on it.
Thanks. Tom

If lpop is scored that bad chances are it's a lifter gone bad. Nephews motor would be in order.

stick a Gauge on it and see where ICP ( injector control pressure ) is at you need 500 psi to start also ICPV ( volts ) .85v to start you need the IPR ( Injector pressure regulator to be at 14.84% + koeo , 24%low Idle. are you getting Fuel in the upper bowl? and what is FICM readings ?cold start koeo ( key on engine off).

You need to reread post one, no oil in oil filter housing is what I understand.

A couple of things come to mine here, maybe the oil pickup tube broke or has come lose and losing suction. If you don't have oil at the filter housing I don't think you'll have any oil at the HPOP (high pressure oil pump).
If your not moving oil in the engine you might be looking for a engine, when you crank it for 30 sec does the oil pressure gauge on the dash come up at all?

Just a guess, but I would say 2500-3000. If you go this route, take care of any weak points (STC fitting, dummy plugs, standpipes, etc...) and even ARPs while it is out and easy to work on... At that point you can have some fun with it too!

Just my .02

Id pull the regulator and inspect for binding, trash and spring condition first. It's under the 6mm hex plug behind the balancer. Then check the lpop housing and gears - balancer has to come off. Then the pick-up foot and tube inside the oil pan. Just the order of tear down by complexity.

No the gauge does not move at all. I think I am going to pull the pan first, what's the easiest way to see if a lifter went bad?

Pull the LPOP and check the gears and front cover for damage. If a needle bearing from a failed lifter took it out there will be evidence on the gears of the LPOP.

I believe You can pull the front cover without pulling the motor. If you pulling the pan the motor is coming out or up far enough to get the pan out. So I second to check the lpop gears and cover first.
