94 F150 302 Throttle Cable Removal?
Just got my 94 F150 XL V8 (302). It has an oil leak and needs the lower intake and valve cover gaskets replaced.
Of course I have an issue right at the start with removing the throttle cable from the throttle body. I've searched the forums and have not found a really good explanation of how to disconnect the cable. From what I have read it seems like it should just pull off. However, I have never removed the cable, it doesn't seem to want to just pop off, and am leery of breaking it by prying it off. Even the Chilton manual I have, which shows a picture of my cable, only says "Remove the throttle cable."
Anyone have experience removing this cable and mind letting me know the proper way to remove it?
Throttle cable attached to throttle body from front of motor
Close up of throttle cable connection
