Hi,
I have a 2001 F450 7.3 Diesel
I am getting two error codes:
P0743 Torque Converter Clutch System Electrical
P0741 Torque Conerter Clutch System Performance/Stuck
What do these codes mean?
Do I need to change my torque converter or maybe just the torque converter control solenoid?
If it is the solenoid, how do I change a solenoid?

Is the Torque Converter not locking? Do you see an RPM drop or feel the lock up? Can you give us more information about its symptoms? The P0743 is pointing to a connection/wiring or solenoid issue. The TCC solenoid is part of the Solenoid VB and would need to be replaced as an assembly if defective. Tell us more before throwing parts at it.

 

In order to further diagnose the problem, you will need a Scan Tool.
