165 amp alternator

165 amp alternator
Sorry for another alternator question but here is my problem. I purchased a 165 amp alternator for my 1990 f250 7.3 and when it arrived I realized I purchased one with an internal regulator. My truck has an external regulator. The look-up says it should fit. Is it easy to convert this? The link to the alternator is here:

If the link doesn't work, search anywhere on ebay with the item number: 361160679203
Is this considered a 2g or 3g alternator? Can anyone just send me a link to a thread that would help me convert? Pix would be great, if possible.
Thanks much, in advance.

I am not sure if the one you have is a 3G it looks like it might be if so this thread should tell you what you need to know to convert from a 1G to the 3G alternator.

If you have the serpentine belts the mounting will be different but the electrical should be the same.
