power lock vs power window switch?

Does anyone know if there's a significant difference between the lock and window switches on the OBS trucks? I know there's a difference in the little plastic index pin on the bottom, and of course the arrows instead of "l" and "u" written in the dents.
The driver's door lock switch is mysteriously missing from my 95 scsb. I'd like to save a little cash by substituting the $10 power window switch for the $40 lock switch. Will that work if I clip off the plastic pin and mount it up?
