Got up yesterday and the truck would start. Turns over just fine, but won't fire. Checked codes and got p0403, p0404, and p0405; all egr related issues.
I'm going to pull the egr and clean it, but my question is, would these codes cause a no start? I haven't had any issues with performance that I read are normally happening when people get these codes. Just wondering if I may have another issue along with the egr problems.
Thanks for the suggestion! Now to get to that *******...anybody have a tip to get my hand back there without removing the de-gas bottle? Or am I just having some wishful thinking?
There are two ways to go at it. The Tech Folder discusses them at length. I think the decision (go from top or bottom) depends on how long and skinny your arms are - lol
I've tried from the top and from under. May have to take the heat shield off to get it. I've got Pop-eye forearms and just can't wiggle my arm close enough to reach it. First-world problems.
I got it!!! From under, I reached up and over the heat shield. With one finger, I hooked the clip and slipped it off. Did see some oil on the connection, so I think I'm on the right track. Charging the batteries up and will report back once I can turn it over. Thanks for the help so far!
Ok, so after killing the batteries leaving the hood open and stereo amp running while trouble shooting, I have the batteries charged back up and the ICP disconnected and still won't fire. I'm checking that I'm getting fuel to the upper filter right now, can anyone suggest where to look next? Thank you in advance!
Do you have a ScanGauge II or Torque Pro to use and read the actual values? Need to make sure your getting 150RPM for the starter also, sync needs to happen... really need a gauge of some sort now.
So, school is keeping me very busy and I'm just getting time for this again. I do have an Edge to read pcm data, what am I looking for? (once I get the icp plugged back in)
Ended up with too little time to see this through to the end and took it to the dealer. Had a bad cam position sensor and harness and icp was going out, it had "low" readings. Got it back and it runs as good as ever. Thanks for the help.
