Looking to buy- what do you think?
Hi everyone,
I have been reading through the forum and I'm really impressed with the help and how nice everyone is. I'm looking to get a 1978 or 79 pick up because I've always loved the bodystyle. Just beautiful.
I have found this ad locally and I think it's a good one. What do you guys think?
I want a truck that is already put together enough to be a daily driver but still have some work to be done so I can learn to customize and repair it.
Thanks for your feedback!

Wow... orange exterior with a green interior. Talk about working the color wheel!
Just so ya know, green interior parts are hard to come by. Protect those door panels.
It's decent. The price appears to be inline if it has been well maintained but sellers usually leave a little wiggle room.
Inspect for rust and hacks. Good luck on your hunt.

So, I perused Utah CL just for fun and there doesn't seem like there is much to choose from. Seems pretty hard to get a rust free truck for less than 6K or more.
I would make a list of those trucks close to you, fill up the gas tank and go see a few. Look at what 2K gets you compared to 4K. You know your budget!!
Unless you can literally see that a truck is well maintained...you might drop a 1000 just to get it road worthy. Brakes? Oil leaks? Steering leaks?Rust in bad places?
PLenty of those CL truck have flatbeds and that's not cause they are all hauling hay...know what I mean? If the bed rusted out then there could very well be rust everywhere else too.
Good luck...you wont regret it unless you just jump on the first one you look at.
