Sort of - he is a Mechanical Engineer that hates Ford Gold (or at least he does not think much of it).

I agree about exaggerations being possible on the International oil and EGR cooler failure rates in that thread, but in it more than 4 people are posting about cooler failures in their VT365s. That being said, internet searches don't provide many links to threads like that one. That speaks volumes. REGARDLESS, it was International that determined that a coolant filter was needed on their early VT365's. They must have had a reason!!

Here is one other thread on the MaxxForce 13 engine (not sure how applicable the oil cooler plugging on it is to our engines though):

Ok guys I got more details on why this Peterbuilt dealer told my buddy this. You're not gonna believe this logic! He is telling his customers that it is dangerous to run red EC-1 coolant because if someone worked on your truck and didn't know what type of coolant you had in it, they might mix another type of coolant with it and cause damage to your head gaskets and radiator! I'm serious, I couldn't make this crap up! He's telling customers it's better to run regular green coolant!

It's one thing to say yes they might mess up, (Doubt it since red is pretty exclusive to ELC i think) but this guy must have no idea what he's talking about when he says to run "regular green coolant" in the 6.0s .. hes part of the issue
