Thump thump thump when rolling to a stop
#16
if you're tires are way out of balance or the rim is bent it would cause slight thump when rolling and you would feel it in the steering and suspension.. you wouldn't hear any brake noise.. the imbalance or warp in the rim would cause a sort of skip or lift at the tire..., and the possibility of a warn u-joints in the front steering knuckles would have the potential lift, skip, thump...
hope that is helpfull.. cheers

Get under your truck and check everything over grab your driveshafts push up pull down wiggle it twist it does it feel like it has to much play? Do you hear any sounds like you do driving? Do the same with tie rods shake them pull on them any noise? It's hard to diagnose problems over the internet especially when you say it goes thump thump thump that could be any number of things be as detailed as possible is the whole truck shaking just? the steering wheel?

This probably has something to do with your other post about your tires chirping going around a corner sounds to me like you have a issue with your front tires I'm guessing left front when you turn right weight gets transferred to that side if your tire has a broken belt it could cause it to chirp and feel a thump going straight check all your lug nuts also re torque them

The truck is not shaking and neither is the steering wheel. It feels and sounds as though there is like a knot or bubble in the tire tread, but it's a low sound? I know that's a bad example but I don't know how else to explain it. And again, it definitely feels like the noise is happening more than once per rotation of the wheel/tire.

I'm open to any ideas. I guess I'm just relaying what I thought I have ruled out. I would think if it was a tire issue, I would only hear it once every rotation

As stated before, a tire can make noise more than 1st order.
Does the noise change at all depending on the type of road surface?
You say you ruled out brakes but spinning them by hand is not the same as rolling on the road with the vehicle running.
You can narrow your search by figuring out what order the noise is. How many times does it happen per wheel revolution is key. 1 time means tire or wheel bearing or brake. 2 times means tire, wheel bearing or brake. 4 times is driveshaft related. These are all generalizations of course but generally true. Hard to diagnose a noise from a distance. I did steering, suspension and noises exclusively the last 15 years at the dealer and one thing I know is noises are a challenge best taken in person.
