5.4 shutting off while driving. Then starts back up?

I have a 2002 f250 5.4 and while I am driving it just cuts off. I then pull over wait for 10 seconds to 2 min and it starts back up. Then later down the road it will do it again. I have changed the fuel filter and that has helped in for a week or so then it does it again. I also changed the fuel pump and the same thing happened.

Just thinking about something simple off the top of my head....

Have you checked your battery cables and connectors?

Do you have a million keys on your keyring? (FIL had this problem...not kidding)

Thanks!

dies while driving and no start for some period of time

Had this problem with my E350 1997. I start and stop my vehicle a lot so put a lot of wear on the ignition switch. Mine was doing this same thing and I found the ignition switch was so worn that the contacts had become sloppy. Replaced the ignition switch (the plastic contactor at the base of your steering column that your key actuates when you turn the key) and the problem went away.

Check the fuel pump drive module {FPDM} , it's mounted on the frame above the spare tire. they are really bad about corrosion building up between it and the frame. It eats though the FPDM and starts causing problems.

You just replied to a 8 year old post, I hope it's fixed by now!
