ignition switch problem?

ignition switch problem?
I have a 2006 E-250 5.4. Starting yesterday, I've had problems with the van when ignition is in off position. Turned key off, went to get out, her blower motor come back on and off intermittently. The dispay where odometer is will cycle, sometimes saying check gauges. Lights also on when this happens, can turn on radio etc. For now disconnecting negative battery cable when not driving. Seem to have no electrical problem when in run position. Thinking may be ignition switch, but don't want to start just aimlessly replacing things. Any help would be appreciated.

Definitely something wrong with the ignition switch, the electrical portion not necessarily the key cylinder. I'd double check the interconnecting rod, make sure its not hanging up or not pulling the switch back to its different positions.
They're not difficult to replace although the gynmastics required to get access make this seem a lot tougher than it is.
