Been thinkin about that to, damn cats and amperage setting ( 2, 12, 75 ) are my biggest worries. Got a sand blast cabinet and the 110lb system in the meantime, theres enough burkas in my nieghbourhood that I dont look out of place when I use them.
So will this process work on aluminum? Will it damage plastic or wood? thanks
No... doesn't work on non-ferrous metals... aluminum doesn't 'rust'....rust is iron oxide.
The solution will darken wood. Doesn't damage plastic.
Btw, avoid using this technique on thin spring steel... it will weaken the molecular structure. It's ok to do on coil springs so long as it isn't left in the vat for weeks on end. It has a lot of mass so the treatment only affects the crudded surface.
there is a blasting and metal cleaning company by me that have tanks big enogh to put a complete frame or body into. they are huge!!!

Yeah but those companies typically use a caustic solution in their tanks. This washing soda solution can be used to water your landscaping.
