Door Access Panel screws..

I'm looking for the 16 screws and j-nuts that attach the door access panels on my '66. Surely I can do better than $57 at LMC Truck!! Anyone know what size these might be?

If they don't have to be factory, take a sample down to ACE Hardware, which is what I did. HF like schoo did would be cheaper, though.

I'd have to check at home but I know I bought my screws at ACE Hardware. The screws themselves are SS pan heads and think there are #10 at minimum. Didn't need the j nut as I wasn't missing any but just wanted new screws.

Jerry:
If you're not in a hurry, I have a set (used original) that I can send you for the price of postage. Otherwise most of your nut/bolt stores or hardware stores will have the J-nuts and sheet metal screws. You're welcome to my old ones, they just won't look as good as new hardware.

I bought my screws and "j" nuts at Lowes. They have some automotive fasteners on the hardware aisle.

Here's some info on the fastener sizes if it helps at all. Not a long read.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll check out Lowes and HF and see what I can come up with.

I had my unmolested panels painted and ready to go, but I found another set in the junk yard that had been cut for speakers. I grabbed them and working on modifying for 6x9's and map pockets. They're in the ugly stage now...

Thanks. I couldn't find them on his website, but that's ok... resonateur was gracious enough to send me his old ones (THANKS Eric!). I measured the factory screws and they are bigger than #10, but smaller than #12.. interesting.

If I had to get the screws locally, I'd get #10 ss oval head screws and u-nuts.. available here at Lowes. The #12 screws would work fine, but I couldn't find the matching u-nuts anywhere.
