HID Problem

HID Problem
Over the summer I put Spec D Tuning 35W HIDs in to replace original headlights. They look great and do a great job of lighting up the road. The problem I had was when ever I put the high beams on and went back to low beams only one low beam would come on. I did a little troubleshooting but since the Excursion only gets about 5K miles a year on it. I lived with it.
Fast-forward to Nov days are getting shorter and near freezing temps with a 6 year old battery. I’ll run to the convince store use the lights HIDs. Shut the truck off for 5 mins come out and not be able to get any low beam HIDs either side. High beams work. Parking lights and halos work.
I think a weak battery combined with lots of idle time at low RPM results in not enough power getting to the ballast. Which has now made a nuisance problem a major issue.
The Spec D Tuning HIDs did not come with relays but after researching on line I really think this is my problem. Does any one have a good recommendation on a relay harness for a 2000 Excursion to use with HID headlights?
I also plan on replacing the 6-year-old battery to help conquer the Polar Vortex headed my way.

One of the first things I do in every vehicle I have owned is install HID's. I have put them in 4 different cars and 5 different bikes. I have had the same issue in the past on 2 separate occasions. One was because of a faulty ballast, and the other was due to water getting inside the plug from the ballast.

Still troubleshooting this HID headlight issue. After researching the problem I purchased a wiring harness and new battery. HID low beams are working fine they stay on now. A new problem has popped up after installing the wiring harness. The issue I am having now is with the high beams. I can only get the passenger side high beam to come on. This is the side I plugged into the input from the vehicle to the wiring harness. Also the high beam blue indicator is reversed on the instrument cluster. It is on with the high beams off and out when the high beams are on. My initial thought is to reverse the wires on the high beam hook up on the passenger side and see what happens. Any one have any thoughts or have this happen to them. The HIDs were purchased from Spec-D-Tuning and the wiring harness is a Moto Control Size 9004/9007.
