replacing e40d which years will work

I have a 1994 IDI 4 by 4 crew cab. I'm wanting to know which years will interchange with that tranny that transfer case and is the wiring the same

As far as i can tell it looks like 1992-1994 should work there may be others but this is all I know for sure...I'm sure someone else will chime in.
