I was digging and found that silly thing puts out about 1.5 VAC.
Most likely is not a really clean sign wave.

That is the whole rub to a lab scope it comes out as a square wave on my labscope when I had it LOL
I have run 100's of labscope traces on the 6.0 always had the same pattern, dunno what it is the pcm does or why?

Thanks cheezit my genysis3 with labscope also used to have documentation with comparisons of good wave forms.

While doing a google search earlier for how a 6.0 PCM reconditios the signal I came across a 22 page document that looked exactly like the sensor descripton pages used in the 6.0 Bible.
I tried to just copy the link but it would,nt paste and I had dummied up and closed out the page. LOL

Note to self never close the page until you know you have a good copy and paste. Or at least remember the search values.

I had thought of history but I use windows and Mozilla Firefox no such option like you have on the mac with Safari. Nice try tho good idea.
I am afraid I am becomeing obsessed with trying to find out why the PCM needs to recondition the signal. Google is failing me now LOL

They make a Safari for the PC. I have not used it in some time but it worked well.

As to the WHY the PCM needs to condition the signal. Simple The PCM is digital and a sign
ways is analog. So it needs to make is so that it can understand it. Square wave is much
easier to deal with. Sharp rise and fall edges and snot the smooth rise and fall of the sign wave.

First I want to thank you for all you have done.
As far as the why I finally after a number of google searches I found a long rambleing article by Nasa of all places that confirms what you found.

It seems the technology was developed by nasa so dissimular devices could talk to each other. A very long winded article I must have read for half an hour totaly lost in tech speak and formulas before I got to the info relateing to a 6.0.

Basically it turns a sign wave into a square wave so it can communicate to several other sensors that speak in sguare wave like the vss sensor for example.

Also did you build that break out box your self? Nice

Yes I did build it for a project that I have yet to finish.
I was looking for a fan control supplement system that would
allow an override with a backup supervisor system so that if
it was forgotten then there would be no harm.

It's for the 6.0
The controller was to be based on the Arduino microcontroller.

I wanted to set it up so that you could pick the % demand and
if the PCM wanted more then you had it would override you setting.

Lets say you needed a bit more air flow for the AC then happen to hit
a hill that put some demand. The PCM wants to see 50% and you only
have it set to 25%. The PCM would get priority over your A/C setting.
Also I would want it to return full control back to auto (PCM) control
any time you restart the truck.

Now that is a heck of an idea. I know of of a few cooling systems used in the oil refinerys that could use a little better control systems also. lol

I could use a multi-million dollar contract.
Heck I would even share some. But not with
the IRS if I can help that. They are greedy rodents.
