Ot: lady bugs

Any one else bothered by those litlte critters. I was wanting to do some paint work , but everytime the sun shines those little devils start to swarm. It is my understanding that the department of agriculture inrtoduced these things to eat afids from corn and soybeans. Just something else we didn't need. They only show up in mid to late October.

Yep, got them here too this year. The last two years have been minimal amounts but they seem to be back in large numbers this week.
Lot of them are all over the fluorescent lights in my garage. They don't seem to bother anything, just looking for a warm place for the winter. Would rather have them than yellow-jackets and spiders.

We get a lot of them in the spring when it starts to warm up. They are harmless for the most part except they smell bad when you squish them.

High altitude grasshopers, ladybugs, asian beetles. What about Box elder bugs. We had about 1500 of them on the south side of our house one year. All looking for some place to hang out for the winter. At least the dog likes to eat them.

The house where the first two Truckstocks happened is yellow and white. You guys cannot imagine how many of those things it holds sometimes. You haven't lived until you've had one fly into your ear or mouth while sleeping. They DO NOT taste good at all. Also, I must disagree with the harmless statements. They HURT when they decide to bite.

In the past two or three years, we've had lots of those yellow lady like bugs. This year, none. They must be moving north due to global warming. This year it is stink bugs. For several years, we've had lots of foxes and coyotes, no turkeys. Last year, few foxes and coyotes, this year lots of turkeys. Many things run cyclic.

There are a bunch of Lady Bug cousins - There is one that is bright gold when it's horney, if you touch them they turn black
We have the Lady Bugs and the Stink bugs this year

We get "lady bugs" in our foyer every fall and spring( I just went to check and there aren't any right now). It's almost like they hatch out of the sheetrock.
