ChemE major and although flow dynamics work for fluids or air, the coefficients of drag (and many other boundary layer parameters) are very different between the two...

Nice article,
but it IS marketing and not clear if they meant they used 'fluids' for their testing ??!!??

so not sure that using fluids would help except to give you ballparks... too many air monitors to measure how air flows that would work better IMHO...

They were referring to CFD, which of course can model gaseous substances like air too.
I believe this part of the exhaust was how the engine got the name "Scorpion", because it looked like a Scorpions tail.

In any case, it allowed them to juice the motor up a bit. Kind of wondering where the inefficiencies are in this motor. Used to be a better air filter or intake would give you more power. Bigger exhaust system with mandrel bends, etc... Seems like these have all been taken into account.
