Re-Anodizing Trim

Ok, I've searched but can't find much info on getting the trim anodized again.

I've stripped the anodizing off the grill, main trim, race track trim and drip rail trim (wow there is a lot of trim on this truck)

But now comes the time to anodize them again. Does anyone have experiencewith this or have had this done?

If so I have some questions....

Does the black paint on the center of the race track trim need to be removed? Yes if it's there the aluminum below it won't be anodized but is that an issue if I am going to repaint the black stripe?

How clean do the parts need to be, the polished side is great now but the back sides are just scrubbed clean... is this enough?

If anyone has had all their trim anodized and would like to share how much that cost that would be great too.

Thanks in advance!

I would probably be best to contact someone who actually does the work.
I haven't had anything reanodized but I use Advanced Plating in Nashville to do my chrome plating. I think they do anodizing also but not sure.
They were always very helpful when I called with any questions.

Specialist trim shops will strip it, repair as needed and re-anodize. They can also re-apply any paint. A special paint mixture and/or special primer is needed to stick to the aluminum.

I had some done by a shop in CA some years ago for a hot rod with paint accent on some parts and it came out well. I don't remember the name but if you Google "Aluminum trim repair" or some such I'm sure you will find several options.

In general it is pricey... but sometimes keeping the original vs re-pop is the best choice.
