Dome light wiring issues

I have a 96 F150 and as long as the fuse for the dome light is in it stays on checked the door switches but that didn't help even unplugged them but no luck

If you rotate the headlight switch fully clockwise it turns the dome light on.

Try twisting the headlight switch. That should turn the dome light off and on.

If its not the dome light switch turned on then check under the driver's side foot rail and see if the dome light harness is damaged(shorted to ground), also check behind the seat in the cab corner, sometimes a rusty cab corner will chew up that harness.

The door switches are a grounding switch to the dome light.

Also if you removed that fuse #8(dome light and speedometer memory power) you will have no speedometer function. If you have the E4OD automatic transmission, it will hard shift and flash the OD LED on the gear shifter because it is not getting speed info from the speedometer(PSOM).

If you have a manual tranny, then only thing not operational would be the speedometer.

What, that you can turn the dome light on without opening the door? I thought it was pretty handy.
Is that what it was?
