Dome light

Is there anything that can be done to keep the dome light from coming on when the doors are open?

You could remove the bulb.

I wanna b able to turn it on by the switch I just dont like it coming on everytime the door is opened.

You could probably add your own switch but i doubt there is another way besides a fuse or the bulb.

I know what you are thinking of. Some cars have a dome lamp with On-Auto-and Off positions. Unfortunately the Superduty does not. So like natem said, you'll need your own switch and do some wiring. You could use an upfitter switch, if you have them. Or maybe you could fit a small switch into the side of the dome lamp fixture.

Don't forget, the cargo lamp is going to come on with an open door too, so you might want to deal with that at the same time.

Sounds like you need to sneak around at night. What's that all about?

I put this little Radio Shack switch in the side of my overhead console. It would work for a dome light, but I have no idea if the dome lamp shell has enough space for it to fit.
