2003 Brake Caliper Sticking
Front left brake caliper is sticking while driving. Eventually the brakes will caliper/pads will almost lock up or require more acceleration to get/keep moving. It was doing it for about 6 months, usually getting bad the more stop-and-go driving that is done. It started after a pad and rotor change. I accidentally pushed the caliper piston out when compressing it. So I put a new caliper in, bleeding the brakes then.
I just got around to trying fixing the issue, and replaced the pads, rotor, and caliper again. Then bled the caliper and greased the pins. I hoped it was just a bad replacement caliper, but the issue remains.
Does this sound like a bad brake hose? What else could it be?
First replacement caliper was an Autozone, second was Raybestos.
Thanks
David

Use a silicone grease compatible with the rubber boots.
It sounds like a brake hose issue if when the caliper is "sticking" and cracking the bleeder valve releases the caliper.

I changed the hose and I'm confident that was the issue. When I had the hose off the caliper previously I would get about a drip of brake fluid every minute. With the new hose it was a constant drip. Before I could leave the bleed screw out and it wouldn't drip, now it drips. So a collapsed hose seems accurate.
Now when I brake it pulls right then left. The drivers front has all new hardware and pads. The passenger front has one year old pads/rotors/old hose. Does this seem like I should put the other pair of new pads on the passenger side so the pads are equal thickness on the front?

No, pad thickness is irrelevant. What you're getting is uneven braking due to one or more of the calipers hanging up. It could be a front or rear caliper.

hi, guys!
I encountered a same or similar issue with my 08 250 diesel. Brakes were dragging. Once I cracked the bleading screw, to release pressure I knew it was hydraulic issue. By then I had ne calipers on. I replaced the rubber brake hoses. That did not cure the issue. Next step was the master cylinder. That was the culprit .
Ever since its been running fine. Hope this helps.
