Where on motor does this part go? 78 302

I took it apart a while back and I just don't remember and it looks like it's for the alt but I can't make it fit there . I found two holes that it lines up on the water pump. Help please. Thanks Tom

Tom, most parts only fit one way so it must fit there, you may have other parts to help it fit as well such as a spacer, sorry but that's the best i can do for you

Looks like either alternator or air pump mounting bracket. Post the number that's stamped on the bracket and I'll see if I can look up the application.

Looks like 10156 in lower pic.

If so: D4AZ-10156-A .. 302 Alternator Bracket-Front = 1974/79 F100 & 1975/79 F150.

Thanks guys from Numbers picture I see I have the alt mounted in the wrong bolt hole, I have the dip stick where the alt bolt goes. Tom
