'66 power brake booster replacement.

I have a rusty, grubby old unit for a core but I don't know what to exchange it for. Rock Auto lists four, one of which has an "FT1" rod. My core has that rod. What does that mean? Is that necessary for a '66 F100? The core came off a '66 but I can't remember which model.

I'm considering replacing mine as well. Signing up to see what the thoughts are.

I just ordered a refurb one for my 1966 Camper Special F250 with drum brakes, single master cylinder, at Oriellys for $78, exchange core. Mine is old and cruddy too. Hope they take it.

On closer examination, Rockauto might be offering only two different units.

Hey ND: Your book shows only one? Any idea where a number could be found on the booster? Anyone: Any idea what "FT1" means?

I added the booster to my 66.

I found a set of brackets and bought my booster/mc at Bumper2Bumper for $178.

Fits like a glove and works perfectly.

This: C5TZ-2005-C = 1965/66 F100/250 2WD

Booster originally had a tag on it with Bendix number: 2504335

Only difference I see between the two are one comes with a master cylinder and one doesn't

One has an "FT1" pushrod, like mine, the other doesn't. My parts store example doesn't. I don't know the significance of this, or if it matters at all, but I would love to get the pushrod length correct at first go.
