Talking Blue Spring Update is done

Well it has been done a few days ago but with the weather couldn't get her out for a drive yet. Seems to run good. I know the injectors like it!!

blue spring update reply

I saw the pics and it looks like something I need too. You say the injectors like it. For the trouble, is it a good boost? Will it throw any kind of code or create an issue down the road?

Blue spring upgrade should throw no codes and make for much happier injectors.

It takes 10 minutes to do. I wouldn't expect any real "boost" but it might keep you from killing a $1500+ set of injectors. It's a factory ford/international part intended to fix an issue with the part it supersedes. There's no chance of throwing any code. It's basically a "recall" but they call it an "update" so YOU get to pay for it rather than Ford. Your call...

Talking

It puts more pressure to the injectors, no CEL light. It was pretty easy to do my hardest part was putting the plastic intake tube back on.

Some of us are slower than others -- I think it took me a couple hours, but I was damn careful.

Never checked fuel pressure -- before or after, contrary to what some others do. The spring should raise the fuel pressure about 10 psi. I think, besides monitoring your truck's vitals (and fixing what needs fixing), it's one of the smartest and easiest preventative things to do...

I have a fuel pressure gauge and have exactly the same pressure range after the blue spring upgrade. Not many others see 70 so we're lucky.
