Unless you changed ratios you need 3.50 gear. There are always some on e-bay. Local wrecking yard should be able to hook you up also, but you never know exactly what you are getting.

like Gator said, the 9" came with 3.50 gears. just make sure the center section accepts 31spline axles.

My Bad

I meant 3.50's. Junk yard not best option like said above, you don't know what you are getting. I would rather find one someone here has, probably better odds of getting something good. Thanks for the reply's guys.

What exactly is wrong with yours? Repairable? Again e-bay has them always and some actually decent priced for rebuilt. You even get a warranty. Of course the shipping is $75+ but if ya gotta have it...

I have nearly half of that in parts for mine that I rebuilt.

what size tires are you running? you might use this time to upgrade gears. nothing wrong with doing the rear axle first.

35's

I know, I need to regear but I don't want to have to buy a whole chunk for the front end. I think I just need bearings but want to add a posi. Been doin some reading and it looks like a Trutrac is preferred over the Tracloc. Is it ok to add either to a stock housing?

Stock housing is fine.Ford 9" is 1 of the toughest rear ends available. Will work great for almost anything until you start getting into 40" tires with very high HP. Even then can be upgraded to handle almost anything you can throw at it. if its good enough for 800 HP nascar it oughta be good for you.If you are getting into some very serious off road stuff, you might look into upgrading the axles, but for MOST off roading its hard to beat a 9
