I recently purchased a 1997 Ford Ranger with a blown 4.0 with a 5 speed , I have a 5.0 with a Carb and 5 speed out of a 80s mustang . Is it possible to use this in the 97 Ranger , I understand I need a different fuel pump but motor mount wise I was hoping it would fit. Any Input from someone who has done it or something close to it would be helpful .

That FrankenRanger was a sweet build, he has a manual covering most years on the swap. A couple of things in your favor is starting from a 4.0Ld, usually the radiator is sufficient and same with the rear end. Mustang mounts from mid 80's work. Tri-Y headers for a Mustang fix without frame cutting. Another good source of info can be found in these two articles:
