looking for a ranger
hey guys i live on long island and i was wondering if you guys would be able to help me with some information on 2nd and 3rd gen rangers. I'm gonna be using it for fishing on the beach and for hunting. also i might use it for some off roading/ trail riding. i used to have a 93 cherokee and now I'm looking to get a small truck. if anyone has had major problems or is one year is better then the other.... any information can help even if you think its something small and dumb it'll help me....also i should prob say I'm looking for a 4x4 model

i was looking through the ranger section of this forum and i came across this webpage that talks about the best ranger for off roading being between a 90-97 and it was saying a manual was best. How To Buy A Used Ford Ranger
do you guys think any 98 and 99 rangers would be good bc thats all I'm seeing on craigslist that are the extended cab

I only had a 2wd ranger a 92 wit 2.3 lt 5 spd I bought it in 93 wit 6k on it , I had it for 20 years and 350 k plus miles on orig motor and tranny . ran good when I got rid of it . I put a little money into it along the way but a good truck. I used it harder than im sure it was designed for too. I do know they had some head gasket problems wit the 6 cy . sensor problems also for later years . my son just bought a 96 4x4 and that's what its in the shop for. hope you find what ur lookin for
