What speedo cal. Brand is still around?

Ok, I have a 1999 Extended, 8 ft. box. 8 inch Superlift springs, 3 inch BDS hangers and 3 inch body lift. I have 44 boggers with 513 gears. Never got my speedo calibrated and trans finally went (in other post) now tans is getting built but Superlift Tru-Speed is on 60 day back order and all other even remotely close either goes only as big as a 37 inch tire and most ring and pinion you cant enter.???? What programmer will get my speedo on so I don't lug my trans again and maybe some accurate running for some performance. BTW it has a 5.4 liter for power plant.
Thanks!

Hi Reddhorse,

Not sure about the speedometer correction, but I wanted to mention that your transmission doesn't care about that. It just sees output shaft speed, and speedometer calibration isn't going to affect that.

Another option besides the truspeed would be a tuner. Any on the market should be able to correct your speedometer

SCT Tuner will allow you to enter your gear ratios and tire sizes (not sure what the max size is). I had a superchips programmer and it didn't allow for gear changes and was limited to 38" tire size.

I was understanding that the speed sensor on the rear axle sends info to the box on the side of trans, hence trans shifting as it went out twice...wouldn't shift. Shift points were all over the board when was bad and speed sensor reports to that box for speedo...? Talked with guys at Banks today and they said it plays a big roll in preasure on fluid and a whole array of stuff, they were also limited to tire size (38's). When it's not reporting correctly you end up "lugging" the trans as well. I spent most of the day calling literally coast to coast! Hard to beleave no one has a Tru-Speed out there that's what I need. Adjust gears, tire size then along with it the speedo comes. Some one has a old truck somewhere with it on behind the barn!

How big will AE allow you to adjust ? I know it does not have a gear ratio option but maybe you could fudge the numbers by calibrating up to maybe a 54" tire.

If no one has the answer by tomorrow I will load AE on my new laptop and take a look.

Thanks!
Hypertech said they will go up to 54 inch tire, no gear. But the guy said that you program tire size and somehow he figured that if I entered 40 inch to programmer, that it would fool both pick up and trans via what programmer says. He said it would work. Just bring GPS to adjust. He also said then it would sync everything back to stock......then purchase any upgrades if I wanted for performance. 250$ and a year warranty, I just figured come here and see if anyone else had any input. Maybe grab tuner, then try it, if don't work still get tru-speed in 60. +/- days????
