Right hand connecting tie rod

Ya'll I have a question. I installed a new steering linkage (right hand connecting tie rod) from Moog. Parts DS1349 and ES3423 with adjusting sleeve ES3422S.

The one I replaced (may have been original) had what looks like a locking arm which the Moog part R.H. tie rod didn't come with. I transferred the old locking arm onto the new arm.

Can you confirm that this is a safety locking mechanism?

Here is a close up of the locking arm on the new new sleeve.

And the entire new arm (right-hand tie rod).

Its the bottom arm in the schematic from Moog. It shows this locking arm but doesnt have a part # for it and it didnt come in the boxes:

What the heck is Ed doing in the 7.3 section? We don't have no stinkin FICM here.

But I have done business with Ed for the kiddo's truck and have been pleased with the product.

I've also got XRF ball joints and tie rod ends in my truck after my MOOG problem fixer tie rod ends failed.

What can I say? I get around. LOL.

I'm glad to hear that you've been pleased with our services in the past. We actually carry everything you can get for any Ford - both in the OEM and in the aftermarket space with very limited exceptions and for nearly always less money. FICMrepair.com just lists the incredibly common stuff that we sell.

6 months!!!! That woulda been under warranty.

I like Moog...its served me well. As for a million mile warranty...gotta wonder what that warranty includes.

Warranties aren't worth much unless you plan on, and have the time, to replace the things that are going to break.

As for my Moog parts, they were under warranty. The new one looked the same as the old one. The warranty didn't cover the cost of the tires that got screwed up.

The last Monroe shock I bought was the same way. Bad part = sorry about that, here's your new part. You're out the labor to change the part and the chewed up tire. Have a nice day.

Oh for sure. The cost of the replacement part is the least of it. Its the R&Ring that hurts. That being said, 1 million mile warranty sounds like a ploy. Most people dont keep vehicles long enough for that warranty to be anything but a curiosity nor do they keep receipts....
