99 SD No Charge Situation v10

Hi everyone,
First time poster here so bare with me, I am not the greatest with electronics.Ty for your time in advance. Late one night working on my dodge I used my SD lights to illuminate my work area. Next morning started the SD to head off to work and she died about 5 minutes into warm-up. Temps here have hit -50 so it is almost necessity to let your truck warm-up. Anyhow went to start it back up and got death click. Long story dramatically shortened .
Replaced Generator-Tested out at around 12v on bench (when it actually put out voltage, failed completely twice)
Replaced Battery-4 year old yellow top junk needed it too
Replaced pigtail-To Generator regulator
Currently the truck reads as follows while "Running "
Battery 11.7 volts
Generator hot side 11.7volts (pretty sure this is feedback voltage from batt)
Key in start position
Generator regulator pigtail pin 1-12v+- "ON" key position
Generator regulator pigtail pin 2 -Has wire that plugs into alt next to pigtail-registers no voltage while Key is in"ON" position or while truck is "Running"
This is where I believe the problem is but not sure if this provides the generator with its "Field" in order to actually send voltage back to the batteries
Generator regulator pigtail pin 3-12v+- "ON" key position
All fuses in the truck double then triple checked. Fusable links and all other wiring appear to be in good condition with no physical damage.
Is the center wire the problem? Any help would be appreciated as this has had my truck down for a week now, its seriously frustrating and taking it to a mechanic simply isn't an option.
Ty again and have a great day

Please use wire colors so we can make out which wire you're talking about.

Does the "charge" light in the cluster work when the ignition is in "RUN" before starting?

Sorry for the late reply had work
Generator regulator pigtail pin 1-orange/blue-12v+- "ON" key position
Generator regulator pigtail pin 2 -creme/black-Has wire that plugs into alt next to pigtail-registers no voltage while Key is in"ON" position or while truck is "Running"
This is where I believe the problem is but not sure if this provides the generator with its "Field" in order to actually send voltage back to the batteries
Generator regulator pigtail pin 3-orange/blue-12v+- "ON" key position
Battery indicator is "on" in run position as well as when "running"

I think that your "new" alternator is bad. Take it back and have it tested if you cannot test it yourself.

Today I had off work so I started early on it. After letting the truck run a few minutes I noticed the orange wire fluctuate from 12v down to 8v and back again , this I had not caught before, I stripped the harness all the way back to the fusable link , I then tested at the post of the solenoid with the truck running and got 12v, on the orange wire side of the link it was registering 12v down to 8 then back to 12. The link appeared to be in good shape but as I pulled it away from the solenoid I could feel that it was very brittle . I bent the link in my hand and out came the green dust . Made a new fusable link and she is charging like a champ with no idiot light .
cheers and thanks

Way to go! Glad you got it fixed. Sometimes your best tool is determination.
Good Job.
