KODOS !!!!!!! I really Appreciate It

First, a huge thank you to all of the folks that responded to my call for help !!!! Without all the input from you guys,I'd still be frustrated and without my truck.
So, here's my story in as few words as I am able. It started with an oil change, and ended with an out of pocket expense of well over $500. I'm not sure when the CPS went out, most likely within minutes of the oil change, but that's up for debate. What happened in between is the story. So I did the oil and filter, started the truck, got all the temps up, shut er down to check levels, started er up, and she died within two minutes!
So...... Did some research, mostly on the forums, and most input was the CPS failure as the most likely culprit. Went to NAPA...... Turned out to be a very costly mistake. Put in a NAPA CPS..... No fire..... Went back, got another one as a replacement, installed it, no start still..... Called in a friend known to be a very good gas engine wrench.
After more than 70 hours of his time, and many hours of mine, we got it running last night about 7 P.M. He got on this sight and many others after being pointed in the right direction of diagnoising the issue, and srarted going thru all the procedures to check all the sensors this truck has. We changed the IPR, the ICP, the fuel pump, the fuel filter, the ICP pigtail, and replaced the ICM with a known good one, only to at long last to find the issue all along was the faulty NAPA CPS !!!!!! Because of ALL of you guys sharing your thoughts, my mechanic buddy kept testing and testing and testing...... Till one post from Hussler Jim a Postmaster from Medford.
Jim, I can't thank you enough..... Your links for info and your input about the correct procedures to check the sensors did it !! It saved me sooooo much $$$$ not mention
The truck is running better than it has in a looooong time!
So, all of you having similar issues, my advise is this. Carry a spare CPS, it's one of the least expensive parts, it seems to go out before most other parts, (sensors), and is easy to change. Also, it can fool you.... We has rpm signal all along from the NAPA part, but as Hussler said, it wasn't sending correct readings to the PCM. Not enough Pulse Width.
P.S. Cleaning the IPR helped a lot as well, it was pluged with a lot of sludge and I'm thinking it was not working correctly for quite some time... Kowdog
P.S. #2 Forgot to mention the replacement CPS is a Genuine Motorcraft Part......
