RSK with OBS Springs

Just doing some reading and pondering while waiting on parts.

Would a RSK still using the OBS springs improve the ride enough to warrant the cost and work?

I like the SD spring claims as far as ride and the look of a lifted OBS but I don't want a lift on my truck. Probably will be doing Bilstein 4600s and rear spring/shackle bushings with the tax return and just want to know if I should be thinking RSK at the same time.

I just did the rsk with my obs springs on my truck so take a look at that part of my build thread. I thought it was a fairly simple job. The ride is not dramatically better, but it is good. I think I am going to flip the hangers in the back to get a little lift there as it rides a little nose up right now. (see pic in build thread)

So based off of cost vs improvement would you do it again? Was it worth the return?

I have had RSKs with OBS springs
RSKs with Lift OBS springs
RSKs with Stock SD springs
and RSKs with lIfted SD springs

The best ride I found was the RSK with U-code SD springs

next up was a RSK with 4" OBS springs

Unless your OBS springs are brand new, go ahead and go with the RSK for the SD springs and get new springs.

Also, no matter what RSK design you go with, you will be seeing a minimum of 2.25" lift

Yeah I didn't think about it sensibly. Not sure why I was thinking there'd be no lift with OBS springs. Which brand kit did you like best?

I kind of pieced mine together. I got most of the kit off craigslist for $200 and then had to add a panhard bracket and the bushings. All in I probably have $350. I like the height a lot. It is really right where I want it and the clearance for some bigger tires will be great. But the steering is going to need some work. And the height makes it drive very differently - it kind of launches into to curves until the suspension loads. My springs need to be changed for sure and maybe that will help.

But if i had to do it again I would definitely do it. But I really wanted some increased height too.

I am happy with mine. i have had it for over a year now and am happy still.i have bilstein 5125s.i retained the front sway bar and did need a pittman arm drop.
the rsk improves the jolt felt in your spine when hitting bumps. the ride is still stiff as the springs are still stockers. i just could not swing sd springs.gabe has the sd springs but the time i rode in it there was a bobcat on a trailer following us...

I think the best combo is the Precision Metal Fab 2.25" RSK(bolts right in, don't even drill one hole) with U code springs, An adjustable track bar, a F350 pitman arm, w Bilstein 5100 series shocks.
That is what I have in my CCLB and it rides AWESOME. I have the same setup but V codes in my CCSB and there is a TREMENDOUS ride difference(don't get me wrong, it is 16" shorter and a dually) I am planning on swapping out the V codes in favor of some U codes.

My CCLB w 325/65/18s(34.8x13.50)

That truck has pretty much my idea of the perfect stance. What size rear block?

Stock 4" F350 block. The U codes in the front allow for that
I am also running SD B-code rear slings as well.

My CCSB has the same 2.25" RSK but V-codes and I have to run a 5" block in the rear(with B-codes) to keep it from being low in the rear
