Power steering cooler lines

Power steering cooler lines
So both lines that go to the cooler on my 1999 F-250 sd are leaking. As far as I can tell one line goes to the steering box and one goes to the reservoir but every parts store I've went to says they can only get one line that goes to the cooler not both. Anyone know why that is ? The truck has a v10 engine if that matters. Thanks

4 and 6 are both leaking at the bend where the rubber and metal meet before it goes up under the bumper but all the parts stores claim they can only get the line that goes from the cooler to steering box not the one that goes to the res. are they the same except one just has hose on it to go to the res.

Over the weekend my truck sprung a power steering leak in the return line from the power steering cooler to reservoir. I stumbled onto this thread after not being able to locate the part anywhere online.
I didn't want to spend the money for the Ford part, which I found for around $200 everywhere online. I went with the cheap route and ran a new soft line from reservoir to cooler.
<$10 in materials and about 30 minutes to remove and replace the old leaking line.
Unclamp the line at the cooler first (it is the line on top). Have a container handy to catch the fluid that comes out so that you don't make a mess everywhere and, if in good condition, you can re-use it. I sprung a bad leak pretty quickly and was leaking badly enough that I needed to add a bunch of fluid to make it the 60 mile ride home. This meant the fluid was brand new and I didn't want to waste it. If you have old fluid, now is a good time to flush out the old stuff.
You will not be able to re-use the plastic clamp that holds the line to the frame. You can re-use it for the other return line (to box) but the hose is too big to fit. Just zip-tie the hose to the clamp once it is re-installed. Make sure to ziptie the hose and be careful how you route it. Keep it from rubbing on things and make sure it is away from heat as much as possible. It is a pretty straight shot from the reservoir to cooler and it really only goes one way, but just pay attention.
Attach new line to cooler.
Eaton 3/8" hose.
Old line with rusted hole. This typically happens where it is clamped to the frame. Dirt and water get trapped in there and rot it out.
Old vs. new line.
