Door panel light

The red door panel light that comes on when the door is open did not work on my 04 F250 Lariat. I removed the door panel to fine there is no whires for a light. My 01 xlt has them, were they a option?

Ford didnt run wires to them for some reason. who knows why. One of those odd ford things...

It is really a light or reflector? Does it have an opening to insert a bulb and socket?

If so, the wires might have fallen down or maybe have been cut off by mechanism in the door?

If no opening for bulb and socket, then it is a reflector only

Yes it has a hole but I would think all the panels would be made the same. The lens is clear red no reflective backing. Felt the wire harness and did not feel any cut wires.

same way on my 99 and 2006, but i added a light in them
by the way my friends 99 CC came with them

yea some do some don't
easy to fix and you can even buy an oem lens that is 1/2 white 1/2 red and put two bulbs in the fixture and have a safety clearance light (red)t and a light for illumination(white)
