1997 ford f350 crew cab 7.3 diesiel

Hello I am in need of help in a bad way, my truck is at a hunting camp and I need to get it home. I have the 2nd relay in the engine compartment fuse box buzzing and no wait to start light. I can get a wait to start light by pulling one of the 20 amp fuses in that fuse box and the truck will run. I am changing the glow plug relay right now and I have checked all the fuses. If anyone has any ideas please help. I get no internet service in our camp so I might not be able to read any responced until tomorrow when I come out of camp.

Thanks

Have you tried swapping the relay with one of the others?

Fuse 22? No wts. Maybe unplug the fuel bowl heater and replace fuse 22.

What he said ^^ It sounds like your fuel filter heater is shorting out and pulling the voltage down (thus the buzzing relay). If it's fuse 22 you're pulling that is a VERY good possibility and the truck won't run without that fuse because it powers the PCM as well.

no start

Actually it had two or 3 problems. The glow plug relay was bad, the alternator was bad not charging the batteries. It was 9 degrees at camp and problems just multiply when its that cold out. How I got it to run by pulling one of the fuses is beyond me but I will find out. I did try to unplug the fuel bowl heater and checked and swapped fuses and relays. These 7.3 are a pain in the rear without good batteries and cold weather. They have to be plugged in. The truck drove the 900 miles home without a problem after I got it running. No fun at all.
